El Día de Crap

Today sucked. To preface, the previous week has been really good. I think today had to be bad to balance everything out. So I got out of bed not feeling too great and I decided . . . well, since I don't have to go anywhere, I won't. I was going to lounge around the house, get a few projects done, and have fun. So I call into work to tell them I was going to come in tomorrow instead of today since my schedule is flexible. Apparently they were having a mini-birthday bash for someone there and since I knew him I figured I'd join in. Apparently, I shouldn't have. So I get ready and stop by Albertson’s to get some ice cream. I mean after all, we all know that ice cream is the cure to all ailments, right? Sure! So I get some ice cream and go to work. I encounter the person whose birthday we were going to celebrate and we discussed male PMS. It is true, it does exist. Then my advisor/boss came in and I told him I was having a crappy day and he joined the male PMS conversation. He said that instead of male PMS we should call it MMDD, Manly Man Dysphoric Disorder. Sounded good to me, so today I'm suffering from MMDD. After discussing it further I went upstairs to play with a project I've been working on for nearly a month . . . and I destroyed a key piece that I don't know how to fix. That's fine, I figure I can play with it more tomorrow. So I work for a few hours trying not to touch anything for fear that it will explode. So . . . after this avoidance procedure I go downstairs again, read an article on C.S. Lewis and go to see if the 'treats' for the mini-birthday bash had arrived. Apparently not. I talked to the mini party throwers and they were going to be busy seeing clients so I decided to take my ice cream and go home. No ice cream for them. While driving home I am waiting at a stop light. It turns green and I start to drive when . . . this stupid, idiotic, big blond haired (not a big idiot with blond hair, an idiot with BIG blond hair), huge car driving woman drives speeds the red light. I had to slam on my breaks to avoid her . . . and made it home . . . when the car ran out of gas. So I ate some food which exploded all over the microwave despite having used a paper towel to cover it, and continued having a miserable day. Fortunately in the end I called a friend, filled up the gas tank, went over to his place and spent an hour blowing the heads off of zombies with a shotgun. It was great! Killing zombies and ice cream, the cure to all ailments, I tell ya. Oh . . . and we did have the ice cream. I had two bowls. And now I'm home. I'm not going to take a shower for fear the hot water won't work and I won't use my electric blanket because if I do it will probably electrocute me in my sleep. But if it does . . . at least that means that tomorrow will be better, right?

Oh . . . and here I am as an M&M.
