Food and a Lunar Eclipse

So here I am, observing the phenomena known as a lunar eclipse. I remember when I was going in for my back surgery, I was informed that a solar eclipse would be occurring within the next hour. Obviously, I was not able to observe it. So here I am observing its sister phenomena. Slow moving, but interesting nonetheless. As I stare at it, the moon is orange. Most of it is darker, hidden in the shadow of the earth. It makes me think of varying prophecies that state the moon will turn to blood. Does it mean blood, or is it simply a lunar eclipse? From the brief research I have done it says the moon turns many different shades during this phenomena. Orange is one, I am guessing red is another since they're so close. Maybe I'll have time to see it, maybe not. Nonetheless according to the news, this will occur for the next several hours. Within 45 minutes or so, the moon will be completely dark. Within a few more hours, it will slowly become brighter again as it pulls itself out from behind the earth (if I understand this properly, that is). No, it is nothing royally exciting nor compelling. Yet, at the same time I find it intriguing. The full moon is a different shade, it is slowly becoming darker, and I am freezing on the porch.

On a side note, at work today I was on the detox unit. A coworker and I spoke about food, its preparation, and how homegrown foods are the best for nearly 45 minutes. I was so hungry afterward I could have eaten . . . well, a lot. Why has the definition of 'homemade' become something that you made at home, even if most of it came out of a box? Why does it not mean, made from scratch? How times change and people become more stupid.

Rocky Bottoms

Well, only two posts this month. Lets just say a lot of things have been happening as I mentioned before. I'm going to move within the next week . . . but to where is the question.

All is more or less well. I start counseling in two weeks, I took an extra shift at my job, I'm taking the day off to attempt to fully recuperate from my cold.

So why am I posting? Just to let you know . . . absolutely nothing. Aside from that, I did have a fun time going home and hanging out/visiting with most of you. And if I didn't whose fault is that?

Cheese!

Downer of the Week

So, I found out today that as of the end of September I will no longer be employed by Pierce County. I don't know what is going to happen, but I am going to miss the job. I loved it, loved working with the people, and learned so much in the process. I'm really not sure what to do. I'll keep you posted.

Life-Free Stress

Well, here is an update as to what is going on.

First, my job is having some issues. I have no issues with it, but apparently the State of Washington doesn't think that my employer (Pierce County) is doing a good job in treating the clientele that it does. They believe we are wasting money and that they could do a better job of it. As such, there is a major audit going on and my employer may be shutting down as of September. It has brought some major stress to everyone there because most of us like our jobs and the paychecks we bring home. So suddenly being faced with the fact that all of us may be unemployed in a few months is a little . . . disheartening.

Also, I cannot come back to Utah to visit for two weeks as planned. Since I have been searching for a new place to live I have been forced to limit my time to one week. This means I will have less time with my family, my nieces and nephew (which deserve their own category), my friends, and I will miss Johnny's wedding. Unfortunately this is the price one must pay to go to school while living in a different state. My apologies for all those I will not be able to spend as much time with as I have desired.

So once I return to Washington, I will have another week to work at my job and after that I might be unemployed. Also, I will be moving that week and starting counseling the next. Many things are going on right now and I'm handling it to the best of my ability so if my judgement is temporarily impaired or if my mood isn't always perfectly stable, you know why.

Life leads us down many interesting roads and all we can do is try to avoid the potholes. Best wishes, for now.
