I just wanted to say, I love doing therapy. I know I have said it before, but I know for a fact this is what I am supposed to do with my life. I love it and I am so glad to be here, despite being so busy.
At least I'm not doing medical billing anymore . . . (Hi Steph...MWA HA HA!)

Moving Again
Well, although I hadn't quite planned on this . . . I will be moving within the next few weeks. The reason being is that it takes me 30 minutes to drive from my current home to either work or school. This magnified by traffic or other delays has made my daily routine more challenging. Also with gas prices continuing to increase (currently $3.45 a gallon) I do not want to be doing as much driving. Here is a map of my commute from school, to work, to Good Sam (my internship site).

And here is where I live in relation to everything.

I wanted something within the triangle or close to it, so I causally looked at places around there. Fortunately, I stumbled upon a great place, great rent with great people. More importantly, it is 5 minutes from my job and 10 minutes from school. So I have found a new place to go, I will be moving my furniture next Saturday and casually moving the rest within the next few weeks. So . . . although I will be moving again, I will be much closer so that after 12 hours of therapy I can go home and crash without falling asleep at the wheel.
So now my commute will be something like this (green means home).

What does this mean for you if you're not living in Washington? I'll need to give you my new address. And if you're in Washington . . . I will have more time to hang out . . . I mean study with less planning of how that will be accomplished.

Cell Phones for Soldiers
Today I got a package in the mail opened it and was about to throw away all of the inside advertisements . . . until one struck my eye. It was a bag entitled, "Cell Phones for Soldiers." In short, if you have an old cell phone (no matter age or type) you can put it in this bag with pre-paid postage and send it to them. They (in turn) recycle the cell phones, take the money and purchase pre-paid calling cards which they give to soldiers overseas to call their family. It is an awesome idea and I'd suggest everyone use it to get rid of their old cell phones. What a great way to take care of something you may no longer have use for but haven't thrown away yet. Here's the website if you want more info.

Ready to Travel
I feel slightly saddened. It is about time to renew my passport. I got it ten years ago to go on my graduation trip to Europe. Ten years later I'm about to graduate from college and I hope I'll be able to use it again. I haven't changed much . . . here's the photo from it. And since I have to send it in to get it renewed, I might as well keep a scanned copy of everything right?

I just noticed two things from the picture. First, I had the same hairstyle then that I do now. Secondly, I still have the shirt I was wearing in that picture. I think i'll wear it to work tomorrow.

Therapy Works
A few nights ago I saw a couple who are highly functional and very loving of each other. I have been fortunate enough to be able to work with them for a while. In the most recent session I used a suggested technique and I saw that one of the partners opened up in ways which they had never done so before. They stated things that the other partner has never heard and was very amazed and comforted to hear. Suggestions were made, feedback was taken, and they appeared to be more open and honest with each other in that session.
This is why I love therapy.

Musings of a Cigarette-Smoking Man
Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for!
