Freedom
I swear that there is a whale trapped behind the wall in the bathroom at work. Every time I turn on the water faucet, I hear it calling. If your speakers are turned on, you're hearing the sounds I recorded when I was in there last. I certainly hope somebody goes back there, pulls it out, and returns it to it's home. Poor thing.

I Just Realized . . .
. . . that I really love my job. Even on nights like this where three ladies with the exact same symptoms insult each other appropriately (not loud and obnoxiously for everyone else to hear) saying those things I wish I could say (at times). I enjoy this population most of the time. Even on miserable days I have my coworkers to bail me out.
I am happy and I'm glad that I'm happy. I'm trying to convince my boss to hire me as a true part time position and not just an on-call position. I'm rallying my coworkers, asking for references, and trying to get everything worked out. Hopefully it will come together soon.
And goodnight.

It Finally Happened
I never thought I'd see the day when gas went back to less than $3.00 a gallon (at least up here in expensiveville). See, there's always an upside to the economy crashing.

You Made Me Do It
Well, I was reading through Joel's blog and apparently I missed a post or 80. Not that he writes a lot . . . daily in fact . . . not that I'm saying that's bad . . . for people that have a lot to do in their lives . . . but I'm just saying . . .
So here's my response to his 'obligatory' post. Apparently I have to respond to all of these as if I was in my High School days?
1. Did you date someone from your school?
Blind date . . . it sucked and I am glad it was a one time thing.
2. Did you win anything in Senior's Who's Who?
I don't believe that occurred. And if it did . . . who cares. I wasn't a part of it.
3. What kind of car did you drive?
1989 Blue Mustang . . . rarely. Mostly I was chauffeured.
4. It's Friday night...where are you?
Probably at Media Play . . . getting ready to go to pie after work.
5. Were you a party animal?
I acted like an animal. You know, feeding off of those weaker than myself. So basically, I starved that year.
6. Were you considered a flirt?
Let's see . . . aside from dances, I didn't date and hadn't figured out why I should. So, no.
7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
Shut up Joel. And I was in choir.
8. Were you a nerd?
I really couldn't answer this. If somebody else classified me in this category, then yes I was.
9. Did you get suspended/expelled?
Never.
10. Can you sing the fight song?
If somebody taught me . . . doubtfully.
11. Who were your favorite teachers?
I don't know if I really had one. In fact, I can't remember one teacher that I had. Although my kindergarten teacher springs immediately to mind.
12. Where did you sit during lunch?
Depends on what lunch I had. Either on the steps (choir freaks) or . . . elsewhere.
13.What was your school's full name?
Taylorsville High School
14. School mascot?
Warriors, quite a step up from a lion or a general.
15. Did you go to Homecoming and who with?
Yes . . . depends on the year.
16. If you could go back and do it again, would you?
Hell no. I'd rather have all of my teeth pulled while fully conscious and then have them inserted into another cavity chosen at random.
17.What do you remember most about graduation?
That it happened?
18. Where did you go senior skip day?
I probably feigned a headache and went home.
19 Were you in any clubs?
No.
20. Have you gained some weight since then?
My earlobes are a bit heaver than they were then.
21. Who was your Senior prom date?
Somebody that I haven't seen since I graduated.
22. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion?
Too late . . . and I just decided I'm not going to any further reunion either.
23. Who was your home room teacher?
Don't know, don't care.
24. Do you still talk to people from school?
Well, I haven't talked to any of them in months . . . almost years. This intramanet thing helps though.

For the Longest Time
Tonight is the first time in many months that I have not had to smell marijuana smoke seeping through the walls into my room. The first time I haven't had to hear my roommate and his girlfriend having sex. The first time I haven't had to worry about going down to the kitchen because a mess had been left. The first time I don't have to hear his thumping television and annoying video games play throughout the night. Why?
Because he died. May his soul rest in peace.
Or because my other roommate asked him to leave and he moved everything out earlier today.

Holiday Observed
Happy Mental Health Day!
Now go and do something fun so I don't end up seeing YOU in a psych unit within the next few years.

Can You See Tinkerbell?
Here is a picture my boss from my old job took. I had to look at it for a while, but once I did I saw why my boss liked the picture so. If you watch the photo for about 10 seconds, you'll see what I'm referring to. (No, it's not a joke.)
